Chapter 03The person behind the work

A small studio by choice—not a small amount of care.

Young Studio is me, John Young. Clients work directly with the person thinking through, designing, building and supporting the work.

Why Young Studio exists

Technology should feel like somebody is taking responsibility for it.

A website rarely lives in isolation. It touches email, bookings, payments, products, customer questions and the everyday computers used to run the business.

When those responsibilities are split between anonymous suppliers, even a simple change can become frustrating. I wanted to offer a more direct alternative: understand the business properly, build what is useful, explain decisions clearly and remain available after launch.

The working belief
“A client should never have to wonder who is responsible, who has the context or whether a sensible question is too small to ask.”
How I make decisions

Four principles behind every piece of work.

01

Useful before impressive

Visual quality matters, but clarity, speed, accessibility and a sensible customer journey come first.

02

Plain-English decisions

You should understand what is being built, why it matters and what it will cost to keep running.

03

Evidence over theatre

No fabricated testimonials or unexplained claims. I show real work and give reasons for recommendations.

04

Support is part of quality

A website is not finished merely because it launched. Reliable care protects and improves the original work.

What direct means

One conversation.
One accountable person.

  • No sales hand-off
  • No outsourced mystery team
  • No unexplained recurring services
  • No pressure to replace what already works

If that sounds like the working relationship your business needs, tell me what is getting in the way.
